Job overview

Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any individual who is at risk of redundancy will be given priority, provided they meet the essential criteria.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Community Brain Injury Team as a Band 3 Administrator.

The Community Brain Injury Team (CBIT) is a non-mental health service seeking to address the physical, emotional and social consequences of adults affected by brain injury.

This is key role within the service, providing a flexible and comprehensive admin provision to enable us to deliver the best possible service user experience we can.

You will join an established team of clinical staff in a friendly and welcoming environment.

This role is based at the office in Disablement Services Centre and is for 3 days per week.

Main duties of the job

  • The post holder will be the go to person for queries relating to the Community  Brain Injury Team. 
  • The job holder will manage practical issues in Medway, taking responsibility for the correct safekeeping of keys and CBIT equipment.
  • The post holder will be expected to organise work for self and have front-line contact with service users, carers and the general public or other external stakeholders, as well as internal colleagues.
  • Telephoning service users and carers, typing and preparation of correspondence, customer service, organisation e.g. maintenance of effective and efficient working systems.

Essential criteria
  • GCSE in Maths and English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • • Educated to NVQ level 3 / RSA3 or equivalent

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous paid employment or administrative/office work for minimum of 3 years
Desirable criteria
  • • Experience using RIO • Experience of working in a health care environment

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • • Minimum basic Excel setting up of spreadsheets and updating • Preparation of documents to high quality using Word • Use of Outlook for updating of calendar and appointments • Prioritisation and organisation of work and ability to meet deadlines • Good keyboard skills • Ability to interact with colleagues and clients courteously • Problem solving • Numeracy • Accuracy and attention to detail

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
