We are currently looking for  Rehabilitation Assistants to join our dynamic, friendly team who are patient-focused and thrive on providing quality care to work within our Bromley Home Pathway Rehabilitation Service.

You would be joining a multi-disciplinary team consisting of Rehabilitation Assistants, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Social Workers. Your role would be to assist patients with personal care and their activities of daily living and helping them with their rehabilitation.

Main duties of the job

This role will entail:

  • Assisting patient with activities of daily living such as washing and dressing and meal preparation
  • Rehabilitation in the form of home exercise plans
  • Taking patient observations

This role will be suitable for candidates who have a background in healthcare.

We are not looking for clinical qualifications: we’ll give you all the training you need. Additionally, we’ll give you all the support you need to advance and grow your career. 

For this opportunity, you will need a full UK driving licence and a vehicle that you are able to use for work purposes.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The post holder is responsible to safeguard children, young people and adults at risk. Supervise and assist in the provision of hygiene, and other activities of daily living as  directed. Supervise/assist patients with dressing and mobilising following instructions by members of the multi-disciplinary team.

Deliver appropriate patient care, as indicated by the qualified staff in 
accordance with the patient’s care plan and to the required standard. Move and handle patients using appropriate techniques after training.

Participate in one to one therapy as directed by therapy staff. Report all adverse signs, symptoms, observations to therapy staff responsible for the patient. Demonstrate basic CPR skills after training. Develop rapport with patients and relatives to encourage their interest and  participation in activities.

Essential criteria
  • GCSEs Maths and English A-C or eviquivalent formal education
  • Completion of Care Certificate or willing to work towards.
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care

Skills

Essential criteria
  • Ability to accept appropriate degree of responsibility to recognise limitations
  • Able to work individually and as part of a team
Desirable criteria
  • NEWS2 competency

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Previous experience in busy environment
Desirable criteria
  • Experience working in community rehab setting
  • Experience in caring situations.

Information Technology

Essential criteria
  • Experience using smart technology eg tablets and phones
Desirable criteria
  • Experience using MS Teams, Zoom
