Job overview
The post holder will work as part of the dynamic team Finance Systems team that manages and develops the finance and procurement applications for this host trust as well as other trusts, providing high quality and flexible shared business services.
The post holder will complete development, deployment and on-going system management of the self-service reporting applications. This role is pivotal to the further development and enhancement of our existing reporting applications. The role is designed to build a combination of subject matter expertise and technical skills to develop a strong service delivery.
The responsibilities of this role require genuine business intelligence insight into the finance and procurement operational functions to improve the quality and distribution of financial and procurement information to managers at all levels of the host and other trusts.
Main duties of the job
• Develop and maintain good relationships with users at all levels and suppliers of the financial and procurement management information computer systems.
• First point of contact for reporting application access and report requests. Checking the validity of the requests to ensure system security and integrity remain intact and report requests are in line with the users’ manager’s expectations.
• In the reporting applications, maintain data separation and end user security. Proactively deals with potential problems by keeping standing data up to date.
• To review existing procedures and documents, creating video user guides for users for new and existing functionality. Providing guidance to users of the financial and procurement information computer systems reporting tools as required to meet operational needs.
• Monitor the support portal and assist other members of the team with responding to logs.
• Ensure that any new functionality and reports correctly return the data selected, validating and reconciling data before allowing the new feature or report to be released to end users.
• Assist with testing new developments and system upgrades as directed by the Head of Finance Systems.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade.

Essential criteria
- Degree/years of relevant experience
- Experience of working in an NHS Finance and Procurement environment
- Experience of providing excellent customer service to internal and external customers
- Sound experience and knowledge in data analysis
- Knowledge of SQL and complex query writing
- Experience of developing, planning and delivering training materials
Desirable criteria
- AAT Member or a recognised CCAB qualification (or studying towards)
