Job overview

The role will be a hybrid model with a minimum of two days per week based at the Network office located at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

There is also an expectation twice a month that a working day will take place on the St Barts Hospital site. Non office days, working is via MS Teams from home. Please note that during the induction period there will be an expectation to be available at the office onsite up to five days a week, The length of the induction period is subject to satisfactory progression. There will also be as part of the role, ad hoc visits to network hospitals and for ad hoc regional/national face to face meetings (travel reimbursable).

The One Heart Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Network, part of the North Thames Paediatric Network, has an exciting new opportunity either at fixed term or secondment as a Network Manager for Congenital Heart Disease. There will also be some opportunity to be involved in other NTPN projects.

We are looking for a driven and experience operational manager or nurse/ODP with management skills ideally with a knowledge of cardiac services in the NHS. This should be an experienced candidate with the essential and professional requirements outlined in the person specification. 

Main duties of the job

The post holder will work as part of the Network Leadership Team together with the Clinical Director and Lead Nurse. There is also close working with the cardiac teams at Great Ormond Street Hospital, St Barts Hospital, Integrated Care Systems and the NHS England London Regional Team.

You will work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary Network team, primarily managing the One Heart Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) Network (approx 80%) as well as supporting some ad-hoc North Thames Paediatric Network projects (approx. 20%) – as determined by the North Thames Paediatric Network Director. 

You will be expected to bring proven project management skills but also be a confident leader, representing the One Heart CHD Network at national and regional meetings. There will be an expectation of planning and co-ordinating the delivery of the projects working with others and engaging the constituency of the Network as necessary. The Network Manager will be ultimately responsible to NHS England London region for delivery of the One Heart CHD Network, alongside the Network Director.
