Job overview

An exciting permanent opportunity has arisen within the Medical Equipment Training and Equipment Library department at King’s College Hospital.

This would suit someone with a background in medical equipment library, and in medical equipment workshop service.

There will be opportunities to work in different roles as a library assistant, but the main role would be the customer-facing front desk of the Medical Equipment Library (MEL).

Main duties of the job

The Medical Equipment Management Service (MEMS) of the Department provides a range of services to the Trust. These include the care of medical electronic and associated devices, Training of clinical staff (Medical Equipment Training) to use medical devices and a loan service for medical devices (the Equipment Library).

MEMS is based on two sites. The Medical Equipment Resource Centre is at the main hospital site and acts as the link with clients seeking repairs to equipment. The Centre also provides the Equipment Library function and houses a suite for staff undertaking training on medical devices. MEMS also has electronic and mechanical workshops within the main department which is at the Faraday Building, on the edge of the hospital campus.
