Job overview
We are now recruiting to our Chief Information Officer (CIO) role where you will be a key member of the Trust’s senior management team (non-voting member of the Trust Board). Building on the existing systems, we are looking for someone who can drive digital innovation and serve as a change agent to enable clinically led digital transformation. You will provide a strategic Digital Technology vision for the Trust
The next two years are exciting ones for us as we focus on the rollout of the Meditech electronic patient record (Moorconnect) and the construction and opening of the new centre for eye health in Camden (currently referred to as Oriel). This CIO role will play a key role in delivering both of these major programmes.
Main duties of the job
As CIO you will work as a technology partner and will leverage Digital Technology to add value and enhance the Trust’s use of computer-based systems. We are looking for someone who can lead on all aspects of client facing technology implementations and support and can provide vision and leadership to ensure that the Trust’s information technology keeps pace with prevailing trends both within healthcare and the wider technology community.
In this role you will also lead on the wider information and informatics agenda and develop systems and process that enhance structured data capture for use in the organisation. You will also lead on developing and setting the strategic digital agenda within the Trust and the wider stakeholder communities of education and research.
We are looking for someone who is used to working in a service-driven role who understands how to manage systems and technologies in a mixed environment of “in house” teams, shared services and out-sourced partners.
Using your experience, and a strong strategic and commercial understanding of technology and how it impacts a complex organisation, you will set and enhance service and governance objectives within the Trust.
