We are seeking to appoint a full time Locum Consultant Medical Oncologist in Sarcoma to cover a period of maternity leave effective immediately until 31st December 2025.
The London Sarcoma Service is one of largest specialist services in Europe providing comprehensive care for all soft tissue and bone sarcomas as well as gastrointestinal stromal tumours.

Main duties of the job
We are looking to build additional resilience for a fixed period into our medical oncology provision based at University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This is a unique opportunity to join a world class service delivering excellent care and committed to research.
You will join an experienced team of medical, clinical and paediatric oncologists. Details of your role will be determined by your experience, interests and clinical need.

Professional Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MB,BS or equivalent Full GMC Registration with a licence to practice and revalidated as appropriate.
- On GMC Specialist Register for Medical Oncology or within six months of attaining CCT.
- MRCP or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Higher degree (MD, PhD or equivalent)
Clinical Experience
Essential criteria
- Comprehensive clinical experience in medical oncology
- Experience of Acute Oncology Services
- Experience of and ability to work in multidisciplinary team.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of ability to take clinical
- responsibility above SpR grade
- Experience in sarcoma
Clinical Skills
Essential criteria
- Management of all aspects of care of patients undergoing chemotherapy
Desirable criteria
- Undertaken advanced communications skills course
Audit Management & IT
Essential criteria
- Evidence of management/leadership roles
- Understand the requirements of governance and clinical audit
- Experience in organising clinical audit
- Evidence of participation in quality improvement project within oncology
- Evidence of management training
- Evidence of ability to take responsibility
- Ability to organise and prioritise workload and manage time effectively and efficiently
