Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for three enthusiastic and motivated band 6 musculoskeletal (MSK) physiotherapists to join our Richmond MSK service.
A successful candidate for this post will need to be self-motivated, forward-thinking and committed to this area of specialism with experience and skills as outlined in the personal specification.
The MSK service is made up of a large team of physiotherapists, including an MSK interface service and women's health service. The service offers physiotherapy through face to face, virtual, classes including hydrotherapy and shockwave.

Candidates must be a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and hold a degree in physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
Provide high quality Physiotherapy in our MSK services working under the guidance of more senior Physiotherapists. This can be in both the main departments, and as a lone worker in satellite clinics.
To provide competent and developed musculoskeletal assessment, diagnosis and appropriate onward management of patients presenting with chronic and acute musculoskeletal problems.
Deliver programmes of supported patient self-management, in ways that facilitate behavioral change, optimises individuals' physical activity, mobility, fulfillment of personal goals and independence, and that minimise the need for pharmacological interventions
To provide leadership and support to junior colleagues in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal clinical conditions.
Engage in service improvement projects.

Essential criteria
- Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent
- Current HPC registration.
- Membership of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
Experience
Essential criteria
- Broad range of band 5 care clinical specialities including Musculoskeletal and Orthopaedics
- Experience treating patients with complex pain and co-morbidities
- Evidence of CPD maintained in a portfolio, including attendance at recent and relevant postgraduate courses
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience at Band 6 level
Skills and Abilities
Essential criteria
- Developed communication skills allowing patient centred care
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Broad range of musculoskeletal knowledge
- Remains updated with relevant professional practice and new research/ research papers
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of clinical governance and its implications for services, including experience of quality issues and audit.
