Specialist Respiratory Physiotherapist - Band 7 - 15 hours per week
This is an exciting opportunity to come and be part of the Respiratory Physiotherapy team at Tameside and Glossop ICO Foundation Trust. The job is 15 hours which can be flexibility worked over 2 or 3 days and includes contributing to the overnight and weekend oncall rota. The job is predominantly based on ITU and surgical wards but is part of the wider Respiratory team and provides opportunity to work with a range of patients and conditions at the acute trust. The team strives for outstanding patient care and is invested in respiratory skills and clincial practice. There is a strong emphasis on MDT working and contributing to the education of others.
Main duties of the job
JOB SUMMARY
The post holder will work in the Respiratory Service at Tameside and Glossop Integrated Care. They will provide clinical specialist skills to the ITU service and surgical areas
- Have an advanced knowledge of respiratory care on ITU and surgical areas
- Function as a competent clinical practitioner assessing and managing acutely unwell patients and their families as an integral part of the Respiratory team across the ICO
- Develop locally agreed advanced skills in response to service and clinical demand
- Initiate and participate in audit and research projects relevant to Respiratory care
- Will be accountable for his/her actions and act in accordance with the Health Care Professionals Council Code of Conduct
- Will act in accordance with the local Trust and statutory guidelines and policies

- HCPC professional UK registration
- Physiotherapy Degree
Desirable criteria
- Post-graduate teaching qualification / evidence of teaching or supervision of others
- Working towards or evidence of postgraduate qualifications in specialist area
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Respiratory experience in an acute care setting including ITU, which should include working at a senior level managing and leading others
- Ability to demonstrate specialist expertise underpinned by theory through CPD
- Excellent clinical reasoning /clinical decision-making skills
- Evidence of involvement in the development of programs of care, protocols and guidelines
- Knowledge of Clinical risk management and Governance
