Job overview

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Radiographers to join our dynamic, friendly team, to play a key role in maintaining and improving standards and quality of patient services. North Manchester General Hospital has recently aligned with Manchester Foundation Trust (MFT).  

The post is based at North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) and offers DR plain film imaging, including: A&E, ward, trauma, paediatrics, orthopaedics, fluoroscopy imaging in theatre.  Our Radiology department is a large facility, which offers you the chance to develop skills in all areas of general Radiography, with excellent opportunities to progress into specialist areas.  The department provides clinical placements for undergraduate Radiographers and are committed to learning and development. 

Main duties of the job

Upon joining you will begin a preceptorship, be afforded an induction programme and candidates, who have been qualified for 18 months or longer, will also be eligible to apply for link grading to a band 6 post following appointment. 
You will:
Receive a comprehensive induction and training in all areas
Receive annual appraisals 
Participate in a 24/7 shift system
Be eligible to apply for link grading on achieving core competencies
Receive enhanced remuneration for out of hour duties

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • UK based BSc radiography degree or equivalent UK based qualifications in radiography

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Range of clinical experience undergraduate level in all areas relevant to first post competency
  • Comprehend and work within both IR(ME)R 2017 and local protocols

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a healthcare setting
Desirable criteria
  • General experience in a radiographer post
  • Experience of trauma imaging

Physical and mental requirements
