This post offers a fantastic opportunity to work at an advanced level in both aseptic preparation services and quality assurance. Working in a fast-paced, quality-focused environment, you will be able to make a real difference to the lives of our patients through the safe and efficient provision of aseptically prepared medicines.   Opportunities will be provided to attend relevant training courses to develop individual knowledge and skills in Aseptic Services.

As an Authorised Pharmacist for the Aseptic Services Unit (ASU) you will supervise all aspects of aseptic medicines preparation in accordance with relevant local, regional and national guidelines and regulations.  This will include being trained as an MS releasing officer.

As a senior aseptics pharmacist, you will assure quality of all medicines prepared within the ASU in addition to maintaining and developing the electronic Pharmaceutical Quality System (PQS) in accordance with legal, regulatory and best-practice requirements.  You will be responsible for reporting aspects of the PQS at the monthly Aseptics Services Quality meetings and also provide support at external audits by Regional Quality Assurance and the MHRA

In conjunction with the Aseptic Services Manager and Deputy, you will be responsible for providing QA services to the wider organisation, including risk assessing and advising on unlicensed medicines and formulary applications for injectable medicines, and responding to reports of defective medicines and medical devices.

This role will also provide the opportunity to deputise for the Aseptic Services Manager or Deputy for periods of absence.
