Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a clinic clerk to join our administration team here in the Diabetes and Endocrinology Centre.
Due to the nature of the work you will be IT literate, able to use most office software and at times work unsupervised. Previous experience in the health sector would be an advantage. Customer service, the ability to work part of a team and to work to tight deadlines is essential.
You will be flexible and expected to support the department when required.
Main duties of the job
Reporting to the Office Manager you will be part of a team responsible for arriving patients who attend the centre for clinic appointments, booking various follow up appointments for patients using multiple different systems (PENS, ADT, iPM etc), monitor waiting lists, liaising with health professionals , dealing effectively and professionally to the requests of all service users and patient enquiries and also provide flexibility to meet service demands. Dealing with service users promptly and efficiently via telephone or face to face. General office duties are also included.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Welcoming patients / visitors into the Diabetes Centre and maintaining visibility on the reception desk.
Ensuring appointments are made for specialties within the Care Group.
Arriving patients who attend for their clinic appointments on the hospital system.
Recording of all clinic outcomes on the iPM PAS and patients and removing patients from the waiting lists as necessary in accordance with Trust access policy.
Dealing with out patients referrals in accordance with the choose and book partial booking system.
Liaising with all health professionals, GP Surgeries, Wards and A&E at times.
