Job overview

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Radiologist to join our friendly team here at Wirral. Ideally, we are looking for someone with special interests in Gastrointestinal, Urology or Gynaecology.  A locum post would also be considered. 

We are looking for a passionate, committed and innovative individual who will be valued and  supported within our Trust.

We offer attractive working conditions which includes up to 2 days working from  home and we have recently upgraded our Fluoroscopy room and are about to replace our Interventional suite starting September. 

 

Main duties of the job

The job plans are for 10 Programmed Activities – 8.5 Direct Clinical Care and 1.5 Supporting Professional  Activity (1.5 Core SPA). Additional SPA is available for additional roles in the department (Clinical/Educational Supervisor etc. There is a local agreement at WUTH that an additional 2 hours per week SPA are accommodated in monthly audit sessions and teaching during DCC commitments. Flexible and partial remote working patterns are readily considered.

The successful diagnostic candidate will participate in the diagnostic on-call rota and will provide weekend working sessions as part of their DCC. There is a 1 PA weekly allowance for diagnostic on-call duties and weekend working time. The diagnostic consultant on call is 2nd on call. 1st on call is a combination of the regional registrar hub and evening/overnight outsourcing company. 

The successful candidate will be expected to take an active role in service development and redesign as well as collaboration with other local service providers.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • FRCR or equivalent qualification
  • Entry onto the Specialist Register for GMC or be within six months of obtaining CCT/CCST/CESR
Desirable criteria
  • Relevant higher degree

Clinical Experience

Essential criteria
  • Evidence of continuous career progression consistent with personal circumstances. Demonstrable competencies in general radiology across Radiography/Ultrasound/CT and MRI
  • Demonstrate evidence of higher level training in specialist areas as per the Job Description.

Audit

Essential criteria
  • Experience of participation in regular clinical audit

Interpersonal Skills

Essential criteria
  • Demonstrate ability to relate to and work within a team
