Job overview
We have an exciting opportunity to recruit a passionate, dedicated and highly motivated Band 6 Clinical Lead Nurse within Adferiad ward, based at St Cadocs Hospital, Caerleon.
The post holder will be a key member of the in-patient multi-disciplinary team, working within a recovery-focused service. There is a need to demonstrate a commitment to teamwork, with strong leadership skills. We aim to offer the highest quality specialist service to our patient group in a safe and supportive environment that enables, encourages and supports each individual to recover at a pace that feels safe and comfortable.
We strive to create a safe environment for both patients and staff through the development of relationships where everyone feels safe, respected, valued and supported.
The role will involve 12-hour shifts including days and nights. There are flexible working options available.
Main duties of the job
Adferiad is a 22-bedded adult acute mental health unit serving the Newport and South Monmouthshire catchment areas for patients from the age of 18 to 65 years of age (70 for those patients already open to the service). The unit works closely with the South Gwent Crisis Home Treatment Team who gate keep admissions and facilitate the patients early discharge back to the community. The unit consists of a 136-suite which is based just off the ward and works collaboratively with the Newport based Community Mental Health teams based within Goldtops.
The successful applicants will be keen to develop junior staff and will embrace the benefits of clinical supervision. In addition the role will involve the completion of audits that would help identify and enable quality improvement. The post holders will be supported to further develop their skills in this role, as part of a clinical progression pathway.
