Kettering Breast Screening Unit have an exciting opportunity for a part time Band 6 Radiographer to join our bank team. We are  committed to providing an excellent breast imaging service. We are housed in a purpose built unit at Kettering General Hospital.

We have a breast screening population of approx. 52,000 women and also deliver symptomatic breast imaging for the women of North Northamptonshire, including 8 one-stop breast clinics per week and 150 surveillance mammograms per month,

The role would suit an enthusiastic, motivated and forward thinking individual looking for a challenge in a post that is both interesting and varied.  

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate must hold a post-graduate Certificate of Competence in Mammography.  

 We are pro-active unit in implementing new breast imaging technologies and regularly perform Contrast Enhanced Mammography (CEM) as part of our imaging pathway.

We undertake Tomosynthesis guided biopsies.

The successful candidate would be actively involved in all aspects of breast imaging and applications are welcome from radiographers looking for bank work in mammography.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Radiography or equivalent
  • Certificate of competence in Mammography
  • Current Registration with the HCPC

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in performing breast screening and symptomatic mammography
  • Sound knowledge of the applications of IR(ME)R regulations
  • Experience of dealing with anxious/distressed women.
  • Evidence of CPD
  • Sound knowledge of current issues in breast radiology

Skills
