Job overview
The exciting opportunity has arisen for an interim Head of Therapies at County Hospital to provide professional, operational and clinical leadership and strategic planning to a multi-disciplinary team of clinical staff inclusive of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of an integrated Therapy Service across the County site and externally through SLA’s and lead on the continued development and delivery of an integrated service. Sitting in the division of medicine the candidate will be responsible for the continuous development and delivery of a high quality patient focused service within the specialty therapy team. The post holder will work closely with the Divisional Therapy Manager for Medicine.
Main duties of the job
- To promote and communicate the objectives and benefits of an integrated Therapy Service to the Trust, Strategic, Regional and National groups/forums/networks.
- To be responsible for information sharing via meetings, email and performance reports and sharing information at Trust, health economy, regional and national levels.
- To be flexible and adapt to the changing demands and service needs of the Therapies Directorate.
- To ensure the Divisional Nurse Director & Divisional Operations Director are kept up to date with developments on a regular basis.

- To be responsible for ensuring that systems are in place to empower and engage frontline staff and ensure that they are involved at all levels to achieve service improvements.
- Presenting complex, sensitive or contentious information to a large group of staff.
- Provide and receive highly sensitive information where persuasive motivational negotiating skills are required.
- To provide expert advice in professional capacity to senior physiotherapy and occupational therapy staff.
- To work as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary team, building and maintaining effective working relationships within the Trust and the ICS.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- • Educated to degree level.
- • Evidence of higher level study at Masters Level; Alternatively working knowledge and experience at an equivalent level
- • Experience and/or qualifications in the specific area Organisational Development
- • Portfolio of certified/accredited professional development activity undertaken in relevant areas
Desirable criteria
- • Quality Improvement qualification - Improving together level 1-3 or external equivalent. Eg LCS lavel 1a
Knowledge, Skills, Training & Experience
Essential criteria
- • Experience of working across boundaries to develop networks with key stakeholders
- • Experience of managing a diverse team utilising the full spectrum of HR practices
- • Broad experience of project work and managing projects in a complex multi system environment
- • Experience of facilitating staff engagement interventions with groups of staff or teams

- • Experience of delivering a quality improvement project
