Job overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic band 7 Healthcare Scientist to join our growing cardiac rhythm management team. 

The pacing & devices service at UHNM implants in the region of 1500 devices per year comprising CRT, ICD, loop recorders & bradycardia pacemakers. Our dedicated electrophysiology lab runs 10 sessions per week, we have a team of 5 consultant electrophysiologist’s that deliver a range of EP studies from simple diagnostic to complex 3D mapping with Carto and Ensite for atrial & ventricular arrhythmias

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will contribute to the cardiac rhythm management team providing technical support for both simple and complex device implants. There is an expectation that they will be the lead healthcare scientist in clinic providing pacemaker follow up for both complex and simple devices. You will also contribute to the EP service, training in EP will be provided as part of this role. We provide an out of hours pacing service for emergency admissions

The department is committed to supporting continuing professional development with the cardiac rhythm management service supporting staff through master level opportunities in arrhythmia science, syncope  and health assessment training.

  • IBHRE or BHRS qualification
Desirable criteria
  • State registration with HCPC

Experience

  • Significant Experience in CRM at band 6 level

  • Experience in Electrophysiology
