Bank Band 4 Administrative Worker – Obstetrics & Gynaecology
We are looking for fixed term administrative worker to join our Obstetrics & Gynaecology service on a bank basis. This role is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic, organised, and committed to delivering a high‑quality administrative service. You will play an essential part in ensuring patients receive a smooth and well‑coordinated experience throughout their care.
In this role, you will:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to the admin team.
- Help ensure patient pathways are actively managed, with clinic bookings made in line with the Trust’s Access Policy.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the service to maintain an efficient and well‑organised administrative function.
- Use initiative and contribute positively to the smooth running of the department.
- Answer all incoming patient queries in a timely and efficient manner – seeking clinician input where required.
Applicants should be avaliable between 9am and 5pm. There is currently no night or weekend shifts for this position. The duration of this position is approx. 3 months.
Main duties of the job
How does the Bank work?
Bank work operates as a flexible staffing system in which departments request short‑term cover, the Bank team shares those available shifts with Bank staff, and individuals choose whether to accept them, with no obligation on either side to offer or take placements; in this instance, the Obs & Gynae department is seeking temporary administrative support.
Main Duties of Role
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills, with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal, when dealing with patients and clinical staff.
- Proficiency in standard IT systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and electronic patient record systems.
- Accurate data entry and attention to detail when managing patient information and clinical documentation

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will be required to help in the various disciplines and departments that either have vacant posts that are waiting to be recruited into, or to assist departments with their additional admin requirements. Potential administration duties include but are not limited to; answering phones, data entry, filing, typing, using ASPH trust computer systems as required (training will be provided).
Please note we currently do not have weekend or evening shifts, most of our bank work is between the hours of 9am to 5pm
