Job overview
South of the Tyne Memory protection service are delighted to be recruiting into a clinical lead post which has become available. The service covers Sunderland, South Tyneside and Gateshead offering specialist assessment, diagnosis and intervention for those presenting with early stages of dementia or mild cognitive impairment.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic clinician with suitable leadership and experience, who is motivated to join the collective leadership team.
The successful candidate will support to provide the day to day clinical oversight of the team to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and efficient care to service users .
You will work alongside the operational and clinical leadership team across the older adult pathways.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will act as a role model to support/guide the team to deliver high quality standards of care, be responsive to service demands and dynamic in supporting the team with clinical flow.
Provide clinical advice and supervision (both individual and group supervision) and contribute to individuals appraisals.
Provide in house training to team and wider teams/services when needed and support and embed clinical standards within the team.
The post holder will lead/support and contribute to monitoring team’s clinical performance via clinical audits and work in conjunction with Team Manager to support actions to improve the quality and performance of the service and outcomes for services users
The post holder will require excellent communication, organisational, time management and delegation skills to work in an area of changing priorities.
We are looking for an individual to work as a cohesive member of the Leadership Team, work flexibly and support the Team Manager where needed, offer expertise and experience to develop new staff and support in retention and wellbeing of the team.

Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
- Experience of providing clinical supervision to clinical staff
- Experience of positive clincial risk taking and risk safety planning .
- Proven track record of providing professional leadership within clinical services

- Experience of working in older adult service/memory pathway
