Are you an enthusiastic and motivated individual looking for a rewarding role in a fast-paced healthcare environment? The Radiology Department at Wrexham Maelor Hospital is seeking a Radiographic Assistant / Receptionist to join our dedicated X-Ray team.
This is a reception-based role where you will play a key part in delivering excellent patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our department. Your responsibilities will include general administrative tasks and providing frontline support at the main reception desk—greeting patients, answering queries, and assisting the radiography team.
We are looking for someone who is:

This part-time position is primarily daytime-based, but will include regular evening and weekend shifts as part of the rota.

Main duties of the job
Welcoming Patients: Greet and receive patients upon arrival, verifying identification in line with legal requirements. Ensure they feel comfortable and informed about their visit, providing clear explanations of what to expect during their time in the department.
Confidentiality & Compliance: Adhere to the Data Protection Act, Access to Health Records Act, and all relevant legislation regarding the handling of confidential patient information, maintaining the highest standards of privacy and professionalism.
Communication & Coordination: Handle telephone enquiries from patients, carers, guardians, clinicians, and healthcare staff, ensuring that all queries are managed effectively. Take accurate messages for radiology staff and relay information promptly. Contact patients as needed to arrange and confirm radiology appointments.
Supporting an Inclusive Environment: Uphold the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion in line with BCUHB policy, ensuring all patients and colleagues are treated with respect and dignity.
Flexible Service Commitment: Depending on the core hours of the role, contribute to the out-of-hours service, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays, as required.
