Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for two enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Endoscopy team within Ysbyty Gwynedd.
We are looking to recruit two part time permanent posts and the hours available are 30 and 31.13 hours.
The post holder will provide and deliver an accurate and prompt administrative function to facilitate the delivery of an efficient and effective theatre booking service.
The post holder will work alongside the booking team, nursing staff, Doctors, the public, management and staff from internal and external sources, supporting other team members to deliver the targets and a patient focused booking service. The post holders will need to use initiative, working in sometimes complex situations to ensure patients are booked in line with local and national targets.
High levels of customer service and excellent communication / interpersonal skills are essential, along with the ability to use your own initiative to solve problems as they arise.
You will have experience in an administrative role and preferably worked with the public and be competent in IT in the workplace. Attention to detail and accurate data capture is paramount.
Main duties of the job
The Endoscopy booking clerk will be responsible for managing their own workload with minimal supervision and in accordance with Endoscopy operational procedures, protocols and BCUHB policies.
Must have the ability to plan, prioritise and when necessary re-prioritise their own workload to ensure agreed timescales are achieved.
Ensure that theatre sessions are fully booked in line with agreed theatre timings and booking rules and that this is reflected on the live theatre view on WPAS.
The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good general standard of education (Maths & English A - C and above or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge and experience and willing to work towards this qualification
- IT qualification or proven experience using Microsoft office packages
- Evidence of ongoing personal development
Desirable criteria
- IT related qualification such as ECDL
- Statutory Mandatory Training as per Health Board Policy
- Understanding of Basic medical terminology
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a hospital / GP practice or similar environment
- Experience of dealing with the general public
- Ability to work as part of a team
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working directly with consultant / clinical staff
- Previous waiting list management experience
Skills
Essential criteria
- Proven communication skills (written, verbal and telephone)
- Excellent interpersonal skills in order to deal with clinicians, senior managers and clerical staff

Knowledge

- Familiarity with waiting list administrative proceures and policy issues
- Knowledge of WPAS or other PAS systems or experience using data bases and excel to sort and filter data fields
