Job overview
We are looking for a Senior HR Advisor to join us for a period of 6 months to support the HR Advisory Service to embed and deliver a recent transformation and support the HR Advisory agenda post an exit from a Joint Venture Service arrangement.
This role will support the management and direction of workflow and processes within the HR Advisory Service, supporting the team with complex casework and employee related concerns. This role will work closely with leaders and managers across the Trust and support the Head of HR Advisory Service with specific policy, training, development and other work streams/projects.
It is Trust policy that for posts that are for a time limited period, applicants who are currently employed by an NHS organisation will only be appointed on a secondment basis and should have approval from their line manager this is possible before applying. Applicants who are not employed by an NHS organisation, will receive a fixed term contract.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Post graduate Diploma (Level 7) qualification or equivalent in HR Management or equivalent experience. Evidence of a commitment to ongoing personal development. Master’s Degree (or equivalent)
Desirable criteria
- Master’s Degree (or equivalent) and possession of MCIPD level membership.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Broad experience in a HR Advisory role including supporting and advising on a wide range of employment issues e.g. disciplinary, grievance, sickness absence and bullying and harassment and broad range of complexity and sensitivity
- Experience of working independently at a senior level, advising on a wide range of highly complex employee relations matters without supervision
- Demonstrable ability to identify a range of options, associated risks and barriers in relation to a range of employee relations scenarios
- Ability to motivate and provide support to team members including counselling and mentoring where required.
