If so, we have exciting opportunity to join our team based at The Derwent Unit, Chesterfield.
The vacancy is for 37.5 hours per week, working 7.00am - 3.00pm, 5 days a week, with alternate weekends
The postholder will be required to carry out a deep cleaning service and will be based at The Derwent Unit and cover various properties, with occasional Hotel Services Assistant duties.
Main duties of the job
Housekeepers provide a high class cleaning service to all buildings within the Trust, creating a clean environment for all patients, visitors, and staff. Duties include:
Cleaning Duties
Damp mopping and buffing of all floor surfaces, including using machinery and periodic maintenance as included in the cleaning schedules.
Vacuum cleaning of all carpet areas, including use of machinery.
Damp dusting all radiators, pipes and ledges.
Cleaning of all furniture and fittings by the appropriate method.
High dusting.
Cleaning of partition glass and inside of windows where necessary.
Cleaning of all sanitary fitments.
Cleaning wall tiles.
Replenishing disposable items, e.g. paper towels, soap, rubbish sacks etc.
Emptying of refuse bins and removing to place of disposal. Cleaning of all refuse holders.
Cleaning of lockers, beds and mattress when vacated by the patient
Deep Cleaning Duties
Wall washing.
Carpet cleaning.
Cleaning after major floods (normally following estates staff).
Post clean after major building work.
Pre clean of newly acquired buildings.
Specialised floor maintenance.
Specialised kitchen cleaning.
Specialised cleaning following infection (on advice of cross infection nurse).
Ad Hoc Duties
Order and maintain cleaning supplies to required stock level.
Report defaults, breakage’s, pest’s etc to relevant person.
To complete all relevant paperwork as requested by management.
To open and secure buildings following procedures where required.
