Job overview

The role of the Patient Administrator is to work within a team operating reception on the ward.  Providing an administration service to multidisciplinary teams and patients.

Coln ward is a busy 28 bed female ward where there is lots of activity and the Patient Administrator is integral to the ward.

They are the first point of call for visitors, phone calls , enquires and requests from the ward teams to action,. 

We are looking for someone who is able to organise their workload, deal with many different aspect of the ward needs from patient questions,  phone calls,  clinical notes organisation safely , contacting other departments, IT issues, liaising with many other professionals and departments daily.

 The role is very varied and busy but also extremely interesting and rewarding

The role is part of  a job share and at present the vacant hours are Wednesday Thursday and Friday, it is required that you work the full day 9-5

 

Main duties of the job

·     Provide an effective and efficient administrative support service to the designated team to ensure consistency across the service area.

·     Provide general administrative support within the team including answering telephone calls, taking messages, setting up meetings, filing, archiving, scanning, maintaining stationery supplies and general photocopying as required.

·     Acknowledge and respond to queries via telephone, email and in person providing a high standard of customer care, ensuring professionalism, and responding in a timely manner. Provide excellent customer service face to face at reception and other customer contact points.
