Senior Clinical Fellow in Simulation and Emergency Medicine

Senior Clinical Fellow

Job overview

This post is for a Senior Clinical Fellow - ST4(+) level - in Simulation and Emergency Medicine at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Emergency Medicine Services at Preston and Chorley are unified under a single Directorate. The successful candidate will be expected to work on both sites.

This post is fixed term for 12 months. The post will be split 60:40 between clinical duties and simulation activity. This is a full-time post, however applications from candidates seeking a part time post will be considered.

Main duties of the job

During dedicated simulation time you will develop and expand the current in-situ simulation programme in the Emergency Department; be involved in the delivery of the newly designed trust wide multi disciplinary trauma training simulations; become core faculty on regional Emergency Medicine Simulation Courses and be coached to develop as a debriefer and simulationist.

The successful applicant will work across both of our hospital sites, and so will gain experience in working in a Major Trauma Centre and tertiary centre for many hospital specialties as well a District General Hospital and will be exposed to a whole variety of Emergency Medicine presentations.

Working for our organisation

The Emergency Departments at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals are forward thinking. There is a very low turn over of permanent staff, which demonstrates what a friendly and supportive atmosphere there is. There is a lot of enthusiasm for the in-situ simulation programme and the staff are very keen to see more of it.

The Lancashire Simulation Centre has a longstanding history of supporting education fellows and will play an important role in developing you as an simulationist, drawing on their years of experience in this field.
