Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Enfield's Mental Health Inpatient Services. We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate Physiotherapist to be part of a new clinical team in Cumbria Villa. Cumbria Villa is a new Inpatient Ward on the Chase Farm Hospital Site, aiming to open on 1st October 2024.

·         The Band 6 Physiotherapist in Cumbria Villa will hold a caseload of patients and will perform comprehensive physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and mental health conditions.

·         Use assessment to provide a clinical diagnosis and develop and deliver an individualised treatment programme.

·         To hold responsibility for own caseload and, working without direct supervision to deliver a range of physiotherapy interventions and support to patients and their carer.

·         Access to advice and support from a more senior physiotherapist is available when required.

·         To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner.

·         They will work in partnership with other disciplines to provide an integrated therapies service to the inpatients Cumbria Villa.

·         The role may involve assessments in the patient’s home and providing professional advice which actively informs the teams risk assessments and discharge plans.

 

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for the overseeing the day-to-day delivery of the high-quality physiotherapy service to adults with mental health problems within Enfield Mental Health - Cumbria Villa.
  • To manage a defined caseload using evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions and record all interventions.
  • To deliver high quality, patient focused care for adults with mental health problems.
  • To provide physiotherapy clinical input within  Cumbria Villa Ward working as a member of the multi-professional team.
  • To be a self-directed practitioner, with effective time management skills, able to manage varied caseload demands around regular duties such as case reviews and group work, and to balance the roles of clinician and supervisor.

The partnership between Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (BEH) and Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust (C&I) is going from strength to strength since it was originally established in 2021 forming the North London Mental Health Partnership.

In order to meet the needs of the new Partnership services you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Enfield and Harringay Trust and Camden and Islington Trust. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

  • HCPC Registered Physiotherapist
  • BSc or Diploma in Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of relevant post graduate training

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Post registration and recent experience of working with people with mental health conditions/ LD
  • Ability to independently manage and prioritise a complex caseload
  • Knowledge and experience of key areas of practice such as falls prevention

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Competent in making a decision regarding on-going patient care based on clinical and risk factors
  • Effective communication skills with all disciplines and agencies
  • Knowledge of health and wellbeing needs of service users in mental health settings
  • Good Assessment skills selecting treatment from a range of options
