Job overview
This Post offers an exciting and unique opportunity to work across multiple hospital sites with an 80/20% work split between Newham Hospital, Royal London hospital and St Bartholomew's Hospital.
These posts also offer subspecialisation within Radiology in the following disciplines; MSK, interventional, Paediatric, Neuroradiology and Gynaecological and pelvis Imaging
The successful candidate will be an integral part of a cross-site radiology team, supporting the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a variety of clinical settings. The role will involve close collaboration with consultants and multidisciplinary teams across a broad.
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our existing radiology team. The post will be primarily based at Newham University Hospital with the opportunity to conduct Programmed Activities at The Royal London Hospital or St Bartholomews Hospital within an area of sub-specialist interest.
The proposed interview date will be around the 17th of July
Main duties of the job
· Continuing responsibility for the care of patients in their charge, including all administrative duties associated with patient care.
· Leadership, development, and organisation of the services in their charge in line with the Trust’s business plans. Liaison and communication with Imaging leadership team
· Active participation in quality improvement and audit programmes. Audit and teaching activities are encouraged and supported by the department, and indeed by NUH and the whole of Barts Health.
· Provision of teaching and training for staff within imaging

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
· To support, develop and enhance the general and specialised imaging service at Barts Health NHS Trust.
· To contribute to the high-quality consultant-led diagnostic radiology service at Newham University Hospital.
· Participate in the on-call service.
· To support other imaging developments within the Trust and within North East London (NEL) Imaging Board.
· To provide evidence-based care for all patients.
· To always adhere to appropriate clinical and quality standards.
· To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with hospital colleagues, General Practitioners, community services, and relevant healthcare agencies.
· To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary work.
To participate in the management of the Departments and to liaise closely with the Clinical Director and the General Manager
Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Radiology.
- College of Radiologists (FRCR) or equivalent
- Possession of CCT in Radiology or within 6 months of acquiring the CCT
Desirable criteria
- MRCP/MRCS
Knowledge & Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of management of clinical governance within an NHS setting.
- Extensive experience in diagnostic radiology
- Audit experience
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience in Managing MDT activities
Skills
Essential criteria
- Ability to develop effective working relationships on an individual and multi-professional basis with all levels of staff both within and across divisions.
- Presentation skills
- Teaching for undergraduates and postgraduates
- Demonstrates honesty, integrity, and appreciation of ethical dilemmas
Desirable criteria
- Good general and special ultrasound skills.
- Interventional Radiology skills.
