An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Pathology IT team at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Systems Administrator to support Transfusion IT systems across both Sutton and Chelsea sites. We would particularly welcome applications from candidates who have a health professional background and understand the requirements of Blood Transfusion service and legislation.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the system administrator and primary support specialist of the Blood Transfusion Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and for the electronic blood tracking system. These systems are intended to support laboratory processes, and clinical transfusion including pre transfusion sample management, fridge and cold chain management, and administration of blood components including the traceability of components. This is a key role in the implementation and maintenance of the Transfusion LIMS and blood tracking systems which will involve understanding business needs and translating these into system solutions and delivering end user training and support.
The post holder will participate in on-going configuration of the systems to meet the demands of a fast-changing clinical area. They will be expected to extract and manipulate data as required by the department, the wider Trust and external bodies.
