Main duties of the job

Would you like a job that you enjoy, in a department where people strive to provide excellent quality care? Applications are invited for the position of LED ST3 level post in Rheumatology/General Medicine at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.

The post holder will work alongside the Medicine Team and will be predominately based in Rheumatology. 

You will participate in the acute medical rota – level of responsibilities dependent on your clinical experience.

There will be scope to participate in governance process and quality improvement projects.

The successful candidate will develop skills in the specialties alongside a strong, dedicated team of both medical and nursing colleagues who consistently provide high quality care.

The Trust has an excellent Postgraduate Medical Centre which carries a full programme of events including and offers access to a Medical Library and a Clinical Skills Lab with high fidelity simulation facilities. The post is non-training; however, opportunities for development will be available.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

  • To deliver appropriate clinical care to medical patients with consultant support by working on the Inpatient wards, acute medical unit, and in clinics.
  • To provide appropriate clinical care to acute patients with consultant support, by working on the on call rota.
  • To take an active role in the departmental quality improvement and audit programmes
  • To take an active role in multidisciplinary education within the department

Experience

Essential criteria
  • 24 Months NHS experience
  • A background in Medicine
  • Current active GMC registration
  • 6 months General/Acute Medicine on-call experience
  • Current ALS
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching qualifications
