Contract Type -- permanent Hours 37.5 Base Scarborough The role will support the Catering Manager in providing a safe, professional, and high-quality service to patients, customers and other service users; they will work with the Estates & Facilities Management Team and other Trust Senior Managers to ensure a patient/customer centred and safety focused service. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that a high quality, customer focused, and safe food service is provided to the Trust and external customers. The highest technical and professional standards will be employed to meet the requirements of the Trust and Food Safety Act.

Main duties of the job
· The role will ensure that all Food Safety and Health & Safety legislations are adhered to at all times
· The role will enhance the links between team members, supervisors and Catering management team and will be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of all agreed catering policies.
· Assist the Catering Manager in providing professional advice/support to staff and customers regarding YTHFM’s catering policy & procedures and food safety matters.
Ensure that the patient related catering activities support clinical service delivery within the agreed parameters and support nutritional care and patient safety

Experience and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- In depth knowledge of HACCP.
- Minimum of 5 years kitchen management experience
- Experience of high-volume food production experience.
Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
- Professional cooking City & Guilds or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Higher education: degree, HND or similar level of education or equivalent demonstrable experience
- Advanced/Level 3 Food Safety Certificate.
- Management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience.
- Qualification in supervising Health & Safety
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in Health & Safety, e.g., IOSH.
- ECDL or equivalent IT certificate Commercial /retail management
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
- Ability to organise and prioritise
- Analytical skills.
- Communication skills – electronic, written & verbal.
- Good interpersonal skills

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
