Job overview
An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and organised individual to join the Powys Teaching Health Board Community Nursing Team.
We are looking to appoint a Band 2 Administrator for 25 hours per week to support the Community Nursing Team, based in Glan Irfon, Builth Wells.
Proficient IT skills (including experience of Microsoft Office) will be required as the post holder will be undertaking a variety of administrative duties to assist the day-to-day running of the department. The successful candidate will also possess excellent telephone and written communication skills.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a healthcare setting .
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
The Administration Assistant will provide a comprehensive front
desk/administrative support service to the department.
This will include;
- Deal with and direct calls as necessary in a professional, courteous manner acting as an ambassador for the organisation in all aspects of communication.
- Acting as a first point of contact for the department.
- Answering telephone calls, taking messages accurately.
- Dealing with routine and specialist enquiries in a pleasant and helpful
manner, communicating relevant information to the relevant
departments/person, referring to others as appropriate. - Photocopying and word processing documents, letters, emails, minutes and reports when required.
- Monitor, ordering and maintain adequate stock levels regularly.
- Updating of electronic and paper-based systems, collating of information, mail distribution and logging etc.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Educated to GCSE level or Literacy/Numeracy at L1 or equivalent
- RSA/OCR II qualification or equivalent demonstrable skills
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Business Administration Level 2
